Lt General Anil Chauhan (retired) as a newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff

The Government on Wednesday appointed former Eastern Army Commander Lt. General Anil Chauhan (Retd) as the following(2nd) Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) turning into the first three-star retiree officer to be appointed to a four-star rank officer inside the Army after the demise of nation’s first CDS Gen.Bipin Rawat in a unlucky helicopter crash in December 2021.

Born on 18May 1961 inside the Rajput household of Gharwal Region .Lt Gen Anil Chauhan graduated from NDA Khadakwasla Pune  and IMA Dehradoon & then commissioned into the 11 Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army in 1981.During his appointments a number of instructions, staff0s in his full occupation he had massive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and Northeast India.
