On the occassion of 90th anniversary of IAF Govt of India approves creation of a weapon system branch for IAF officials : Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari

The central authorities has authorised the creation of a weapon system branch for the officers of the Indian Air Force, which might reserve it Rs 3,400 crore in flying coaching, Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari mentioned on Saturday.

This is the primary time since Independence that a new operational branch is being created, Chaudhari mentioned in his speech right here on the event of ninetieth anniversary celebrations of the IAF.

“On this historic occasion, it is my privilege to announce that the government has approved the creation of a weapon system branch for the officers in the IAF,” he mentioned.

The weapon system branch will primarily man the specialised streams of surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air-missiles, remotely piloted plane, and weapon system operators in twin and multi-crew plane, he mentioned.

Creation of this branch would lead to financial savings of over Rs 3,400 crore because of the diminished expenditure on flying coaching, the IAF chief mentioned.

A ceremonial parade was held on the air pressure station right here Saturday morning on the event.

Chaudhari inspected the parade, which was adopted by a march-past.

Air-Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran was amongst senior IAF officers current on the event.
