RRU to offer drone training program with Indian Army & CAPF.

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gujarat is in talks with the Indian Army and CAPFs to train their people in handling drones amid a rise in the use of drones in the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and improvised explosive devices in Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir.

The RRU-DroneAcharya Remote Pilot Training Center’s first class of ten trainees finished their training on Tuesday (RPTC).

“Drones are becoming more and more common both in India and around the world. Drones are used in a variety of industries, including delivery of commodities and irrigation, in addition to policing and security.” Director of the RRU’s School of Internal Security, Defense, and Strategic Studies, Lt. Gen. Asit Mistry report says.

“Drones can also be used in combat, as we saw in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Additionally, a lot of drones are being made in India. But to employ them, we need skilled personnel.” Mistry stated that the RRU is in discussions for providing drone handling training with the Gujarat Police, CAPFs, and Indian Army. “Drones are being acquired by the armed forces, and they require qualified operators. When central forces want it, we shall design our curriculum to meet their needs “said he. According to the Director General of Civil Aviation’s (DGCA) regulations, a normal certificate is good for five days of instruction, however we provide eight days of training, including three days of specialised training.
