Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban launched a blistering assault on the European Union (EU) over the sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia.
Delivering a speech within the western metropolis of Zalaegerszeg, Orban accused Brussels of “shooting” at Hungary within the garb of sanctions.
With Orban’s assault on the EU-member state, fissures within the European Union over motion against Russia lay naked.
“Let us not worry about those who are shooting at Hungary hidden in the shadows, somewhere from the watchtowers of Brussels,” the Hungarian Prime Minister stated.
Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Hungary has rigorously contoured its relations with Russia because it relies upon considerably on Russian power.
Orban has repeatedly derided sanctions against Russia as a catastrophe for Hungary’s economic system.
