Army helicopter crashes in Arunachal Pradesh.

On Friday, an army helicopter carrying five personnel crashed in the Upper Siang area of Arunachal Pradesh. Two remains were found at the disaster site. According to sources, an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) with a weapon system integrated crashed close to the town of Migging. Three airborne rescue teams were dispatched to the accident scene despite the lack of a road connection, according to army sources, who also reported that two of them had already arrived.

After departing from Likabali this morning on a routine mission, the chopper carrying army soldiers was travelling. The collision happened at 10:43 a.m.

Three combined teams of the army and the air force are involved in the rescue operation using one Mi-17 and two Dhruv helicopters because there are no motorable roads connecting to the village other than a hanging bridge. The rescue efforts are reportedly being assisted by nearby residents.

“Received very disturbing news about Indian Army’s Advanced Light Helicopter crash in Upper Siang District in Arunachal Pradesh. My deepest prayers,”  Kiren Rijiju, the union’s minister of law, tweeted.
