Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a defence PSU, and the DRDO have signed a contract that allows BEL to produce and provide Digital Radar Warning Receivers to the Indian Armed Forces.
BEL and Combat Aircraft Systems Development and Integration Centre (CASDIC), a research facility run by the DRDO, have signed a Licensing Agreement for Transfer of Technology (LATOT) to transfer technology for the Digital Radar Warning Receiver.
Fighting aircraft systems and solutions are CASDIC’s area of expertise.
The Digital Radar Warning Receiver, which offers excellent sensitivity, good parameter measurement accuracy, and a high probability of intercept against dense signal, is a “state-of-the-art, airborne electronic warfare system that would provide versatile situational awareness to a fighter platform in a dense signal scenario,” according to a statement released by BEL on Friday, November 18.
According to the announcement, CASDIC will provide BEL with the necessary information regarding the product’s functionality along with full technical know-how, testing and maintenance methods for quality assurance.
