On April 24, 2023, the sixth iteration of Cope India-2023, an air exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the United States Air Force (USAF), which was held at the air bases at Kalaikunda, Panagarh, and Agra over the previous two weeks, came to an end. Frontline IAF aircraft including the Rafale, Tejas, Su-30MKI, Jaguar, C-17, and C-130 participated in the drill. The USAF had sent the F-15 ‘Strike Eagle’ fighter, the C-130, MC-130J, C-17, and the B1B strategic bomber aircraft. Japanese Air Self Defence Force pilots took part as observers as well. Through conversations, exchanges, and combined missions, this collaborative exercise gave participants from all countries an invaluable opportunity to share ideas and learn best practises.
To strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity, cultural exchanges were also planned for the exercise. By enhancing inter-nation cooperation between the two biggest democracies, this exercise reinforces the deeply ingrained resolve to uphold and strengthen the partnership between the two Air Forces.
