On March 28–24, at Naval Dockyard, Mumbai, for NAD (Karanja), the delivery of “Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile Barge, LSAM 18,” a component of the 11x ACTCM Barge Project, was carried out by MSME Shipyard, M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, for the Indian Navy. The ND(Mbi)/GM(Tech), Cmde. Vikram Bora, presided over the induction ceremony.
On March 5, 21, the Ministry of Defense and M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane inked the contract for the construction of the 11 X ACTCM Barge. By making it easier for IN ships to transport goods and ammunition alongside jetties and in outer harbors, the introduction of these barges would boost the organization’s operational commitments.
These barges are constructed in accordance with the Indian Register of Shipping regulations and are the product of indigenous design. The Barge’s model testing was conducted at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory in Visakhapatnam during the design phase. These barges are happy representatives of the Indian government’s Made in India campaign.
