32 members of an Indian Army contingent from a Battalion associated with the RAJPUTANA RIFLES have left for the ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) and the Expert Working Group on the Counter Terrorism Field Training Exercise (FTX) 2023, which will take place in Russia from September 25 through 30. Russia is hosting an international joint military exercise alongside Myanmar as co-chair of the EWG. Table Top Exercise of the ADMM Plus EWG on Counter Terrorism, which took place in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, from August 2–4, 2023, came before it.
Since 2017, the ASEAN and Plus countries have been able to communicate and work together through the ADMM Plus meetings. On October 12, 2010, the first ADMM Plus was held in Ha Noi, Vietnam. This year, the exercise will include participation from Plus Group and ASEAN members.
The exercise will include several counterterrorism drills, such as eliminating terrorist organizations in a protected area. The exercise’s primary goals are to strengthen and advance regional counterterrorism cooperation.
In addition to fostering greater cooperation between the other 12 participating nations, ADMM Plus EWG on Counter-terrorism 2023 will give the Indian Army a venue to share their knowledge and best practices in counterterrorism operations. Indian Army looks forward to an enriching professional experience from the exercise.
