On October 26 and 27, 2023, the 6th Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Subordinate Officers’ Conclave was held in New Delhi. Conclave’s topic was “Towards an Inclusive Approach.” It included talks on a range of topics including leadership, media sensitization, health, IT, and HR, as well as numerous brainstorming sessions. The ceremony was attended by subordinate officers from several Coast Guard units around the nation.
Many Memorandums of Understanding were signed in an effort to improve welfare provisions for Coast Guard employees. Discussions during the conclave centered on how to integrate advanced technology into ICG’s operational philosophy to improve capability and capacity, improve HR policies for better and inclusive career growth, and prepare future ICG hires based on the ideals of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
Director General Rakesh Pal opened the conclave by saying that the Subordinate Officers’ Conclave concept aligns with the Prime Minister’s goal of promoting creative ideas for the inclusive growth of the service, specifically “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas.”
In addition to empowering and extending the horizons of Subordinate Officers, the ICG has given them a forum to voice their creative ideas and thought processes in front of the service’s highest decision-making levels.
