Tomorrow, a group of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will fly to France to take part in Exercise Orion at the Mont-de-Marsan Air Force Base of the French Air and Space Force (FASF). The IAF Contingent will participate in the exercise with four Rafale, two C-17, two ll-78, and 165 airmen from 17 April to 5 May 2023.
For the Rafale aircraft of the IAF, this would be their first overseas training exercise. In addition to the IAF and the FASF, this multilateral exercise will also involve the air forces of Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the United States of America. By absorbing the finest practises from other Air Forces, participation in this exercise would further enhance the employment philosophy of the India Air Force.
