On April 11th, 23rd, in Kolkata, a Naval Aviation Industry Outreach Program was held in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry, Eastern Region, CII(ER).
Under the direction of HQENC, the Navy Liaison Cell, Barrackpore, organised the event.
The opening session was presided over by VAdm Sanjay Mahindru, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (DCNS), and top members of the Coast Guard, DRDO, and CII(ER) services discussed their views on indigenisation.
Almost 100 industrial partners operating in and around Kolkata actively participated in the event, which had as its goal the promotion of an environment that encourages “Innovate-Integrate-Indigenize.”
The DCNS released the second edition of the Manual for Indigenization of Air Stores (MINAS), which has received a thorough evaluation since its initial release in 2010.
This updated version of the Navy Indigenization Agency’ guiding document also included ways to successfully use current financial legislation and streamlined processes for expediting indigenization.
RAdm. Deepak Bansal, ACNS, assessed the technical sessions by Indian Navy agencies and industry partners that came after the opening session (Air Materiel).
