The Indian Navy Sailing Championship (INSC), the most anticipated and significant sailing competition for the Indian Navy, is scheduled to occur in Mumbai from November 5 to November 9, 23. More than 100 pan-Navy sailors will test their sailing prowess in five different boat classes across three distinct racing forms at the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC), Mumbai, one of the best sailing facilities in the nation.
The Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA), located at Naval Headquarters, organizes the annual INSC event to promote competitive sailing among naval personnel.
Teams of officers, cadets, and sailors (including agnavers) from the three Naval Commands will compete in this edition of INSC.
There will be racing in the three most popular sailing formats. Fleet Racing will take place in the women’s ILCA-6 class boat, men’s ILCA-7 class boat, and open windsurfing BicNova class board. There will be match racing in the J24 class boat and team racing in the Laser Bahia class boat.
The Indian Navy places a strong focus on watermanship exercises and acknowledges sailing as a way for personnel to hone their seamanship abilities, courage, camaraderie, and other leadership traits.
