INS Sunayna arrived the port of Durban, South Africa on 21 Aug 23. Off of Durban, the ship participated in a passage practice with the SAS King Sekhukhune I of the South African Navy. Following a pleasantries-at-sea exchange, the ship sailed into Durban harbor. Officials from HCI Pretoria and the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Base Durban, Cdr. Kenneth Singh, welcomed the ship.
Along with celebrating 30 years of diplomatic ties between India and South Africa, the visit aims to strengthen collaboration and coordination between the South African and Indian navies. Through professional engagements, subject matter expert exchanges, and cross-deck visits, the two navies will exchange best practices and experiences during the port call. Social encounters with top military and civil officials are also scheduled.
