Today, April 25, 2023, in New Delhi, India, was the 11th High Level Meeting (HLM) between the Indian Coast Guard and the Korean Coast Guard. Meeting with the Indian Coast Guard team, led by Additional Director General Rakesh Pal, Officiating Director General, was a seven-member delegation of the Korean Coast Guard (KCG) led by Commissioner General KIM Jong Wook, Commissioner, Korea Coast Guard. Both parties talked on how to improve current ties in accordance with the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding for exchanging best practises, holding joint exercises, and enhancing training collaborations.
The terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2006 are being followed in the organisation of the High Level Meeting (HLM) between the two Coast Guards. The goal of the HLM is to improve capacity building and operational level interaction in the fields of maritime law enforcement, marine pollution response, and search and rescue (M-SAR).
