All airmen, veterans, and their families have been wished a happy 92nd Indian Air Force (IAF) Day by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on October 8, 2023. This historic event celebrates the IAF’s nearly a century of unshakable devotion and exceptional service to the country. As we commemorate this achievement, we pay respect to the valiant individuals who gave their lives in defense of the country. Generations of Indians have continued to be inspired by their bravery, commitment, and courage.
The IAF has taken part in all of the nation’s wars, carried out punitive airstrikes, rescued members of the Indian diaspora from dangerous areas, and offered assistance through Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations both inside and outside the country’s boundaries. The IAF has a long history of participating in frequent and fruitful international air exercises with friendly nations. It has successfully established its capabilities to operate both in our immediate neighborhood and in our wider surroundings by appropriately demonstrating interoperability with international Air Forces.
Under “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Indian Air Force has promoted capacity development through domestic defense industries. A significant amount of work has been done to increase the capability of force multipliers in the form of electronic warfare, utilizing space and cyber capabilities to fight tomorrow’s war, artificial intelligence-based decision tools, and systems incorporating cutting-edge technology like Swarm Unmanned Munition Systems, an outcome of the successful Mehar Baba Drone competition conceptualized by the IAF.
The IAF is prepared to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century thanks to its dedication to modernization, innovation, and cross-border collaboration. Let’s all get together to recognize the IAF on this 92nd IAF Day and to show our appreciation for the men and women who fly high to defend our skies and safeguard our future.
It will continue to stand as a testament to the tenacity and perseverance of our country. I wish the IAF continued success and glory.
