On February 10th, 23rd, at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, Capt Prashant Saxena, AWPS (Mbi), launched the Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, Yard 125 (LSAM 15). This Barge is a proud representative of the Ministry of Defence’s “Make in India” project, having all major and auxiliary equipment/systems made by domestic producers.
A contract for the construction of 11 x ACTCM Barges was reached with M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, an MSME, in accordance with the government of India’s “AatmaNirbhar Bharat” programmes.
A 30-year service life is built into the construction of this barge.
By easing Transportation, Embarkation, and Disembarkation of items and munitions to IN Ships both beside jetties and at outer harbours, the availability of ACTCM Barges will spur IN’s operational commitments.
