Visit of the INS Sunayna to the South African port of Durban

In order to support and advance the Prime Minister’s vision of Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR), INS Sunayna visited the port of Durban, South Africa, from August 21–23. Personnel from the South African Navy and the Indian Navy interacted professionally and in training throughout the visit, as well as during deck visits and sporting events. On numerous topics related to navigation, firefighting, damage control, and Visit Board Search & Seize, joint training sessions were held. A collaborative yoga session with South African Navy troops was held onboard INS Sunayna to spread the word about Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

On August 23, the ship was available for guests. Dr. Thelma John David, the Indian Consul General in Durban, inspected the ship and became acquainted with its functions. After departing port, the ship participated in a maritime partnership exercise (MPX) off Durban with the South African Navy Ship SAS King Sekhukhune I to increase cooperation and interoperability. The fact that the visit ended well is evidence of both Navies’ shared commitment to strengthening maritime engagement and cooperation.

  1. Hey there! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog. Is it hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Many thanks
