Recently, some video clips of Major General Yash Mor has surfaced on social media with him telling his students that Vikram Batra got Param Veer Chakra only because Barkha Dutt interviewed him from Kargil & made him famous otherwise he had never been recommended for PVC.
On Thursday, some social media pages like came up with some screeshots of Major general Yash Mor’s Quora reply to a question related to Rajput History in which he had given a very controversial reply, you can read that from the image below:
But suddenly the clip of his class of Unacademy leaked which filled defence community with so much of rage against him. In the clip he was saying, “People mention Barkha Dutt as Anti India, Barkha took interview of Vikram Batra from Kargil & made him famous otherwise no one would have known Vikram Batra. He won’t have got Param Vir Chakra and this credit that he gets if Barkha Dutt had not interviewed him. He would never had been recommended for PVC, People don’t know this. People have made that Barkha Dutt Anti National.” The video is attached below:
After this video came out, the anger & rage of Veterans, Aspirants, Defence Pages and whole defence community including the brother of Captain Batra burst out with fire.
Maj Gen Mor put up a clarification message on Telegram, But is this enough? :
The most emotional or the one who felt most cheated are the family members of Batra sir, His brother Vishal Batra was called by Mor for his talk show where they discussed the bravery of Capt batra & that video still holds the maximum views in Mor’s entire youtube videos. He express his anger against Mor’s hypocrisy in his tweets:
Also, Some Veterans came up with their views and anger against one of the very popular veteran whom they all supported in his initial days into Defence community including General Ved Malik (Former Chief of Army Staff), Captain Dharam Veer and some other veterans. Actually, We reached out to many Veterans for their views on this controversy. Almost all replied but many avoided to comment on the issue for obvious reasons, some were genuinely busy. Some other Veterans shared the stories of other Veterans & commented on the controversy. But a very few like General Ved Malik, Air Vice Marshal Amit Aneja, Lt Gen Satish Dua, Captain DVS, Col Rajeev Bharwan, and some more proved their iron spine, Team DC thanks and appreciates the spirit of these brave Veterans for coming up at a time when most refused.
On the other hand where most of veterans chose to be silent, the defence pages like Hitesh Adhikari defenceglobe, ghatakoperator and many more gave the taste of words to Maj Gen Mor which he deserves. Even some Ex-NDA mentors who used to work with Mor slammed him for his hypocritical side, may be that’s the real face of him. We thank all these pages for bringing this side of Mor to us all. Here it is important to mention that we also tried to contact Gen Mor for his side of story but he didn’t responded at all (may be intentionally because we have been in contact some time ago), which forces us to assume he stands by his shameful statements.
Update: He now clarified in his telegram channel which is also not enough, he just said the context was different and referred defence pages as ‘enemies’! Also did some IG Posts, we are sharing them below:
In first glance these clarifications seem acceptable, but then we notice that may be victim card play is being done. He tried to shift the attention of all to just his batra statement, and called that without context presentation but even with the context it’s not acceptable. Also he forgot to give clarification on his controversial Quora reply related to Rajputana history, may be intentionally.
While all these, we came up with a thought that May be Maj Gen Mor was triggered with the comment on quint & scroll because he himself is an authorised editor of all these news forums:
The only thing which arises here is that a very few veteran like Maj Gen Mor disgrace the whole defence community which is absolutely not true. Exceptions are meant to be presented as examples, especially Mor kind of exceptions. He not just disrespected a brave warrior but also disgraced the whole defence community. He also misused his place as a mentor to so many of young aspirants, many of them might not be knowing the truth & will keep his shameful statements as facts. We request you all aspirants to choose your mentor wisely.
