Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of Egypt, was welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday. In addition, she threw a feast in his honour, according to a Rashtrapati Bhavan news statement. At Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President welcomed President El-Sisi and noted that the occasion of his visit—India and Egypt are commemorating 75 years of diplomatic relations—was particularly favourable. According to the press release, she mentioned that Egypt was one of the first nations with which we established formal diplomatic ties, only three days after India attained independence.
The president also emphasised how our fight for independence has helped to forge stronger ties between the two nations. Saad Zaghloul Pasha and Mahatma Gandhi had similar objectives for the liberation of their countries.At the event El-Sisi also met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, EAM Dr S Jaishankar and several Union Ministers including Anurag Thakur and Piyush Goyal.
The Union government asked El Sisi to attend India’s 74th Republic Day as the chief guest. On January 24, the president of Egypt landed in New Delhi. The Egyptian President was earlier welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.
Other Union Ministers like Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal welcomed him. Along with the Union Ministers, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena welcomed the President of Egypt.
Prior to this, India’s decision to transform its bilateral relations with Egypt into a strategic partnership was declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
“We’ve decided that under India-Egypt Strategic Partnership we will develop a long-term framework for greater cooperation in the fields of politics, security, economics and science,” PM Modi stated at a joint press conference following lengthy discussions with President Sisi of Egypt, who was in town. Additionally, MoUs were inked between Egypt and India in the areas of youth issues, broadcasting, culture, and information technology. The 74th Republic Day was celebrated by the Indians on Wednesday, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi greeted them and said it was a “wonderful honour” to be the principal guest on such a glorious national holiday.He said that the ties between India and Egypt have been characterised by balance and stability

At Delhi’s Rashtrapati Bhavan, El-Sisi made the statement. “Balance and stability have characterised the relations between Egypt and India. There has only been positive growth. We have continuously improved in a great way “He continued. Additionally, the Egyptian President stated his willingness to advance bilateral ties between the two nations to new horizon.
