Pune will host a first meeting of the G-20’s infrastructure working group on January 16–17, 2023.

The first G-20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under G20 India Presidency is scheduled to be held during 16th-17th January 2023 in Pune. India has invited international organisations, IWG member nations, and guests to the event to discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda while India has the G20 Presidency. The Department of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Government of India, as well as Australia and Brazil serving as co-chairs, will host the summit.

The G20 Infrastructure Working Group discusses a range of topics related to infrastructure investments, such as establishing infrastructure as an asset class, supporting high-quality infrastructure investment, and locating novel methods for raising money for such projects. The outputs of the Infrastructure Working Group support infrastructure development and are included into the G20 Finance Track priorities.

One Earth, One Family, One Future, the theme of the Indian G20 Presidency, sets the tone for the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda under the Indian G-20 Presidency. Building robust, inclusive, and sustainable urban infrastructure is the main goal of the debates, and this theme emphasises the importance of promoting fair growth.

The agenda for the Infrastructure Working Group under the Indian Presidency will be the main topic of conversation at the Pune conference. “Financing Cities of Tomorrow: Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable” will be the meeting’s main priority. The theme will centre on a variety of aspects of turning cities into economic hubs of growth, financing urban infrastructure, creating urban infrastructure fit for the future, and managing fiscal investments to unlock private financing for environmentally friendly and energy-efficient infrastructure & mitigating social imbalances.The agenda for the Infrastructure Working Group under the Indian Presidency will be the main topic of conversation at the Pune conference. “Financing Cities of Tomorrow: Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable” will be the meeting’s main priority. The Pune Municipal Corporation and other Pune city stakeholders organised a number of Jan-Bhagidari initiatives prior to the G20 meeting, including G-20 lectures, a seminar on “Making Cities Future Ready and Importance of Urban Development,” a G-20 cyclothon, a motorcycle rally on National Youth Day, a swachhata drive, and model G-20 discussions in educational institutions. The effort intends to include individuals from all spheres of life in the overall talks taking place in relation to the G20 summit.

The G-20 Infrastructure Working Group will be used as a forum during India’s G-20 Presidency to explore the difficulties cities face and the opportunities cities will bring in the near future and map out a path that makes cities more livable.The G20 Infrastructure agenda will be directed by the Ministry of Finance to make sure that the G-20 serves as a worldwide prime mover to imagine new ideas and quicken collective action.
