Officials said the Indian army feted two Kashmiri girl students who worked on the AzadiSAT satellite launched by the ISRO a few days ago.
The 8.7 kg satellite AzadiSAT-2 was a collaborative effort of approximately 750 female students from across India, led by Chennai-based space kidz india.

Insha bilal and Uswa nasir from the government girls higher secondary school, Saloora in the ganderbal district of central Kashmir, were also selected from 75 government schools for girls across India. The chosen girls were in grades 11 and 12.
The mission was launched with the ambitious goal of providing government school students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with a basic understanding and knowledge of space and tutoring them to build a small experiment and launch it to the edge of space via orbital launch.
