US imposes sanctions against individuals, entities aiding North Korea’s weapons programs

US stated will proceed its crackdown “against those who support the development and sustainment of the DPRK’s military”.

The United States on Friday imposed sanctions on two people and three companies reportedly in reference to North Korea’s continuedballistic missile launches, together with intercontinental missiles and for supporting DPRK’s weapons programs. The people and entities are linked with the “delivery of refined petroleum to North Korea, an action which directly supports the development of DPRK weapons programs and its military.”

“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) continues its unprecedented pace, scale, and scope of ballistic missile launches this year. This year alone, it has launched 41 ballistic missiles. Six of these were intercontinental ballistic missiles,” US State Department stated in an official assertion.

Imposing the sanctions, the authorities stated that it’ll ship a powerful message that the US will proceed its crackdown “against those who support the development and sustainment of the DPRK’s military and weapons arsenal”.

The growth comes a day after India condemned North Korea’s missile launches on the United Nations platform and termed it to be a menace to the worldwide neighborhood. New Delhi, together with the US and 9 different nations, warned that they could possibly be in pursuit of its chief Kim Jong-un’s menace of pre-emptive nuclear strikes.

“North Korea made its intentions clear in April and September when its leader signalled an effort to accelerate North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and even alluded to pre-emptive use of nuclear forces,” India’s Permanent Representative Ruchira Kamboj stated in a joint assertion.
