The Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) is a top-level, twice-yearly gathering that serves as a forum for conceptual-level discussions and the formulation of significant policy decisions for the Indian Army. The first ACC for 2023 will take place from April 17 to 21, 2023. The ACC is being held in a hybrid format for the first time, utilising available technology for secure communication. Army Commanders and other senior functionaries will virtually meet on the first day before travelling to Delhi for a balance of physical meetings on topics that call for in-depth deliberations.

On the first day of the conference, agenda items sponsored by various Command Headquarters will be discussed. This will be followed by sessions by Principal Staff Officers from the Army Headquarters and an update by the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command. The forum will also assess the status of the projects outlined for the “Year of Transformation-2023,” as well as the Agnipath Scheme, initiatives for digitisation and automation, the work of the Combat Engineers, and budget management. The top leadership will also discuss current and potential security situations and examine the Indian Army’s operational readiness.

On April 19, 2023, the Hon’ble RM is set to speak at the conference. He will also go over a display of equipment that focuses on cutting-edge technology, surveillance solutions, artificial intelligence, training, robotics, virtual reality, operational logistics, etc. The Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff will also address the senior officers. During the conference, Mr. Vijay Gokhale, a former ambassador to China, will speak about the future direction of Indo-Chinese ties.
