The Indian Navy will get 13 Lynx-U2 Fire Control Systems under the Buy Indian – IDMM (Indigenously Designed, Developed, and Made) category, according to a contract the Ministry of Defence signed with Bharat Electronics Ltd, Bangalore, on March 30, 2023. An indigenously created and developed naval gun fire control system is called the Lynx-U2 System. It can reliably track and engage air/surface targets as well as those hidden by marine clutter.

Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels to be manufactured locally at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers and Goa Shipyard Ltd will have the 4th generation, entirely indigenous systems installed. 

This action would encourage active engagement from a variety of Indian sectors, including MSMEs, and create two lakh man-days worth of employment over the course of four years, all of which will considerably aid the government’s efforts to accomplish “Aatmanirbharta” in the defence sector.
