Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of Personnel and Chairman of the Navy Education Society (NES), presided over the Annual Navy Education Society (NES) Conference 2023, which took place from November 9–10, 2023, at Headquarters Gujarat, Daman & Diu Naval Area, Porbandar. Commodore G. Rambabu, Commodore (Naval Education) & Vice Chairman NES, as well as the administrative and academic leadership of Navy Children Schools around the nation, attended the meeting as well. During the conference, the Executive Committee, Management Advisory Committee, and Academic Advisory Committee discussed the policy framework for Naval Schools, with a focus on implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Attending the meeting for the first time ever were representatives of Naval Kindergartens from several Naval Stations.
On this particular occasion, schools that demonstrated academic excellence in the previous academic year were awarded Rolling Trophies by Chairman NES. Speaking to the delegates, Chairman NES acknowledged the contribution that NCSs provide to providing children of sailors with high-quality education. He urged all parties involved to keep funding the development of teachers and cutting-edge facilities in order to create a welcoming learning atmosphere that inspires kids to thrive in school and extracurricular activities while also imbibing life skills. For the delegates, a guided tour of Navy Children School Porbandar was also arranged.
