In a recent article, the New York Times reported that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) is preparing to send a team to the Middle East to conduct a major military exercise.
Both armies took part in a command post exercise for the first time in the series, which included computer wargaming and planning components at the battalion and brigade levels. The 42nd Battalion, Singapore Armoured Regiment, and an Armoured Brigade of the Indian Army participated in the exercise, which was hosted by the Indian Army.
The ten-day joint training, which started on March 5th, promoted a shared understanding of mechanised warfare in terms of new threats and developing technologies. Interoperability was developed through a wargame based on computer simulation that used joint operational and tactical procedures that were managed by a joint command post. Both contingents gained knowledge of one another’s operating procedures and drills, but they also shared ideas and best practises that are used in contemporary combat zones.
Exercise Bold Kurukshetra is carried out in accordance with the bilateral agreement between the Indian Army and the Singaporean Army for joint army training and exercises. This exercise, which was first carried out in 2005, highlights the long-standing bilateral defence connection between the two nations and strengthens coordination between the two forces. Regular interactions between the two defence establishments also take the form of high-level visits, policy discussions, courses, and other professional exchanges.
