DG NCC opens the All India Thal Sainik Camp 2023

On September 20, 2023, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh formally opened the All India Thal Sainik Camp at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantt. The camp is being attended by about 1,547 Cadets (867 Boys & 680 Girls) from 17 NCC Directorates representing all the States & Union Territories. The cadets would participate in a variety of disciplines throughout the 12-day camp, which started on September 19, including shooting, obstacle training, map reading, and other professional training events.

Speaking on the occasion, the DG NCC welcomed the cadets to the prestigious camp and said that it would give them an exposure of life full of adventure, discipline & honour, thereby inculcating a sense of leadership and camaraderie. The camp’s purpose, he continued, is to expose participants to key elements of Army Wing Training, promote a spirit of competition, and instill in them a feeling of discipline, leadership, and national integration.
