On December 14, 2023, in Vadodara, the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), operating under the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, hosted a West Zone Defence Industry Meet with the topic “Quality Equipment in Time.” In keeping with the Government of India’s vision of “Ease of Doing Business” and “Made in India” in the defense manufacturing sector, the meeting included an explanation to the various stakeholders of a number of new initiatives of the Ministry of Defence to streamline the Defence production and Quality Assurance processes. Director General, DGQA Lt Gen RS Reen, chaired the defence industry meet, which was addressed by Additional Secretary (Defence Production), Sh. T. Natarajan.
During his speech, Shri T Natarajan stated that defense manufacturers now have more autonomy thanks to reforms like “Green Channel” and “Self Certification” initiatives. “Remote QA Inspection,” the Defense Export Promotion Scheme, and the Defense Testing and Infrastructure Scheme are further initiatives designed to stimulate domestic production. The Indian defense producers will be able to deliver vital defense equipment more quickly thanks to these programs, he continued.
L&T, Mumbai, received the Green Channel accreditation on this occasion. Senior officials from the Indian Army in Vadodara and the Naval QA organization, together with representatives of the Defense Industries, took part in the function. The meeting also saw the release of a collection of technical papers on quality assurance.
I do like the manner in which you have presented this particular concern and it does supply us a lot of fodder for thought. On the other hand, coming from what precisely I have experienced, I just hope when the comments stack on that men and women keep on point and don’t embark upon a tirade of some other news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this outstanding piece and even though I can not really concur with it in totality, I value the point of view.
