The 37th Infantry Commanders’ Conference took place at Infantry School, Mhow, on November 14 and 15, 2023, with great success. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Manoj Pande, presided over this biennial meeting.
Many concerns concerning infantry in operations, training, capability development, and the integration of technology were covered, both present and future. During the evaluation of infantry capabilities in conventional warfare scenarios as well as counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations, the appropriate decisions were taken to further improve infantry capabilities in line with upcoming challenges.
The Infantry demonstrated its most recent purchases in the areas of lethality, mobility, combat transparency, situational awareness, and survival during the conference. The display of newly obtained cutting-edge New Generation Weapons & Equipment systems gave people more faith in the infantry’s developing ability to defeat the enemy.
In addition to Colonels of the Infantry Regiments and Regimental Center Commandants, the conference was held in a hybrid format and included the Vice Chief of Army Staff, six General Officers Commanding-in-Chief, seventeen Lieutenant Generals, and fourteen Major Generals. While a large number of attendees attended the conference in person at Mhow, others did so virtually from important military installations around the nation.
The COAS commended the participants for their committed and unwavering efforts at all levels to integrate and implement cutting-edge technologies in order to develop the infantry into a powerful force in the future. Through the discussion, the greater Infantry fraternity that transcends Regimental boundaries was further strengthened and the Infantry spirit was developed.
