German Federal Minister of Defence Mr. Boris Pistorius and US Secretary of Defence Mr. Lloyd Austin are in New Delhi for one-on-one meetings with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh. On June 5, 2023, the Raksha Mantri will meet with the US Secretary of Defence, and on June 6, she will speak with the Federal Minister of Defence of Germany. The two sessions are likely to cover a wide range of bilateral defence cooperation issues, with an emphasis on industrial cooperation.
On a two-day visit, the US Secretary of Defence will arrive on June 4th from Singapore. Secretary Austin will be making his second trip to India; his first was in March 2021.
Beginning on June 5, the German Federal Minister of Defence will go to India for four days. He’s coming over from Indonesia. During an event hosted by Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) in New Delhi, Mr. Boris Pistorius is likely to meet a few defence start-ups in addition to his meeting with the Raksha Mantri. He will fly to Mumbai on June 7 and is scheduled to visit Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Western Naval Command, and Headquarters there.
