33 Companies participated in the Job Fair offering a total of 1,326 vacancies
On November 23, 2023, at Dundahera Military Station in Gurugram, the Directorate General of Resettlement, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, and the Ministry of Defence arranged an Employment Seminar/Job Fair to bring together job providers and ex-servicemen looking for employment again on one platform. The response from ex-servicemen from Delhi, Haryana, and neighboring states to the event was positive. There were 1,326 positions available at the Job Fair from about 33 participating companies. Approximately 1,200 former military personnel from the Army, Air Force, and Navy registered to look for work. In the upcoming month, there will be two additional job fairs in Chandigarh and Visakhapatnam.
The chosen ex-servicemen would work for pay in a variety of roles, including project directors, mid- and senior-level managers, strategic planners, and supervisors. The Veterans and Corporate sectors both benefited from the event. The Corporates profited from hiring from a pool of disciplined, experienced, and trained professionals, while the veterans received a chance to demonstrate the technical and administrative skills they had developed throughout their years in service. Corporate businesses also showcased a variety of entrepreneurship models at the job fair.
Maj Gen Sharad Kapur, DG(R), the event’s chief guest, officially opened the job fair. Additionally in attendance were Brig V K Jha, ADG, DRZ (West), and Brig RC Katoch, Station Commander, Delhi Cantt.
