On August 23, 2023, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the sharing of White Shipping Information was signed by CG Admiral Artemio M. Abu, Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard, and Admiral R. Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff.

During the Commandant of the Philippine Coast Guard’s current visit to India, the SOP was signed in New Delhi. The operationalization of information exchange on merchant marine traffic would be made easier by the signing of the SOP between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Indian Navy, which will improve regional maritime safety and security.
