LONG RANGE TRAINING DEPLOYMENT OF FIRST TRAINING SQUADRON TO SOUTH EAST ASIA

INS Tir, INS Sujata, Sail Training Ship Sudarshini, and CGS Sarathi are the ships of First Training Squadron (1TS), and they are currently in South East Asia for a long-range training assignment. The deployment is a component of the 105th Integrated Officers’ Training Course’s ongoing afloat training. The ships will stop in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam throughout the mission. During the visit, a number of training exercises, business meetings, and a Joint marine Partnership Ex are expected to be held with the host navy and marine forces.

Presently, trainees from friendly foreign countries- Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius and Vietnam are embarked onboard 1TS for the deployment. To strengthen jointness and interoperability, soldiers from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and NCC cadets are also on board. The purpose of the trip is to increase India’s dedication to maritime security and promote peace in the area.
